Replacing Gonzalez as acting Justice Chief is Solicitor General Agnes Devanadera, who is just as loyal a lapdog of Gloria Arroyo as Gonzalez is. Gonzalez, by the way, was appointed as Gloria’s Chief Legal Adviser, meaning, taga-bulong na lang kapag tinawag ng amo at kapag may meeting o’ program sa Palasyo ay miyembro ng ... Tropang palakpak.

The reason Gloria appointed Devanadera to replace Gonzalez was due to her not being able to make it as an SC justice. And she, too, must be rewarded by Gloria for being such a loyal female dog as the Solgen in the many cases filed before the high court and the Court of Appeals, such as the Joc -joc Bolante frozen bank accounts that allowed to be lifted by her, and the Anti-Money Laundering Council’s deliberate non-compliance with the court order to meet the deadline set twice over, as well as the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain issue, along with many other constitutional cases.

That’s how I’ll describe couple Lito & Ruth Ronquillo of Royal Mark Canada in their production of the highly successful Sharon Cuneta concert held Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre which used two halls F & G to accommodate more than 4,000 paying and shrieking fans in a 2 1/2-hour show. Grabe ang dami ng tao! Kahit flat ang boses ng mag-inang Sharon at KC sa pag-awit ng mga kantang bago at luma, balewala iyon sa mga fans, okay lang sa kanila, pati na ang usapang matagal sa stage ng mag-ina just to kill time, okay lang sa mgafans; pati na ang pag-labas sa stage ni Fanny Serrano at kumain ng 30 minutes and usapan nila ni Sharon, okay lang sa mga fans. Ang importante ay nakita at kinantahan sila ng idol nilang si Sharon who last came to Toronto in 1992. Pati nga misis ko, misis ng partner kong si Miguel, kumare kong si Adela, at mga professionals na kaibigan kong tulad nina Dr. Kiko Portugal, Aristokrat owner Rey Sunga, Saladmasters North America distributor Pidoy at Ting Pacis ay pumalakpak ng todo ng kantahin na ng Megastar ang kaniyang trademark song at fave naming mag-asawa na Bituing Walang Ningning! Kahit biglaan ang trip ko sa Vancouver to cover the Bb. Pilipinas of the World Regional contests ay okay na rin dahil nameet ko ulit ang aking best-pren-kumpadre-confidante-kapatid Rey Fortaleza on the night of our departure back here in Toronto. Two-day stay lang kasi tayo ruon, eh, with CWSS top gun Dr. Chito Collantes and Toronto Concert queen Jenifer Camacho, who really burned the stage of the Edgeswater Casino with her dashing display of dancing and singing prowess... Also, I’ve met long-time Manila sports-writing colleague Alex Mino, who edited for Abante in RP where my “The Tall Order” column lasted for many years before I migrated here in Toronto in1996, and now Reyfort’s PNT editor-in-chief.
Reyfort will be producing the “PBA Legends – Toyota-CrispaTour” in Vancouver with tentative August 22 playing date and offered me the Toronto-leg on September 13, after the Winnipeg-leg. Our friend Rick Nombrado, who’s the GM of Howard Johnson Hotel in Winnipeg is interested in producing the PBA Tour in his place. Hey, Rick, I’ll visit you in Winnpeg very, very soon for soke business endeavours, partner! I’ll contact you soonest...
