One phone call Manny Pacquiao said he could not forget is the one made by David Diaz. Manny said it went like this: “Who are you? You’re unbelievable. You’re too fast. Are you human?” asked David, who Pacquiao knocked out in eight rounds last June and snatched his WBC lightweight belt in the process. Yes, Dave, Pacquaio is human and what you fought last June was Superman camouflaged as Pacman and what Oscar dela Hoya faced last Saturday was Spiderman without mask and imitating Manny!
The real Manny Pacquiao is in Manila right now with his countrymen cheering him for his historic triumph against the Golden Boy whom the Pacman turned into a bronzed kiddo in Las Vegas. Yo, David, Pacquiao is human. Tao siya like you and me, but, he breaths fire and throws punches like a dynamo with piston like precision and power like Hercules atop the ring, thus, nobody in his weight range could beat the Pinoy boxing idol in his time.
Ibig sabihin nito, aside from the $10-million assured paycheck ni Manny ay tatanggap pa ito ng 35% from the PPV sales, ticket sales and around $1.5-million from TV-Cable rights in the Philippines. Hindi pa kasama rito and shares niya from other revenues like commercial sales of commodities like T-shirts, caps, etc. Alisin na natin ang taxes and other shares ng Team Pacquiao (from trainer Freddie Roach, cutman, asst. trainer, conditioning coach, alalays, sparring partners, amuyongs, PRO, etc.) that could go as high as 50%, eh, di mayruon not less than $7-million NET kita ang ating Pambansang Kamao.
Hehehe ...

Manny Pacquiao’s dazzling win over a retirement-bound Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas last Saturday night was not what Ricky Hatton wanted to see. Though the British bulldog told several boxing writers before the ‘Dream Match’ that he wants Pacman to win, deep inside him Hatton was hoping for a convincing win for De La Hoya which would open the way for a projected superfight against the American at the 100,000-seater-Wembley stadium next summer.
While that could conceivably still happen, that fight would more than ever carry the quality of a retirement party rather than any sort of a fight in which affluent bequests and pound for pound status were at stake. Instead, Hatton may have to admit the probability of his stadium dream is over. He may pursue Pacquiao, of course, but he will have to get into a very thin line with a returning Floyd Mayweather in front.
In any case, any showdown that involves Pacquiao would almost certainly take place in the United States. The Pinoy icon, no stranger to national hero status, does not crave a piece of the frenzy surrounding Hatton at home, Dela Hoya does. At any rate, while waiting to be called by Bob Arum, Hatton has a number of options far more attractive than a fight against De La Hoya. He could take his pick of the world’s top lightweights like Juan Manuel Marquez, Edwin Valero or even Erik Morales. It would be no surprise to see Hatton versus Marquez quickly inked for May next year. Victory would enhance Hatton’s credibility in the US and boost his hopes of one day getting into the ring opposite the extraordinary Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to my mind is the next Pacquiao foe. And THAT would be the Superfight every boxing scholars in the universe would like to watch and dissect.
Anong say ‘nyo, kabayan?

Anong masama kung pumasok sa pulitika muli si Manny Pacquaio when he hangs up his gloves in 2010? Every Filipino has the right to be part of the political arena in the Philippines provided he is qualified to vote and be voted upon to any elective position.
Bandang huli, ilalaglag din siya ni Singson like what the former Ilocos Sur governor did to his former best friend Erap Estrada.
So, in 2010, Pacquiao for Senator! ..err... For Congressman of Ilocos Sur! ... err, ulit ... For Congressman of QC!
